Do you have a passion for changing the world for the better? Join this two part workshop as part of the Peace & Justice Center’s programming for Campaign Nonviolence’s Week of Actions 2015. Many activists advocate for a particular cause or on behalf of a specific oppressed group. Examples include activism towards rights of indigenous people, racial justice, women’s rights, economic justice, animal rights, and environmental justice. Working individually or in groups, they employ a wide variety of strategies, including writing letters to newspapers or politicians, political campaigning, participating in rallies, marching, joining hunger strikes, boycotts, or other forms of direct action. In this workshop participants will learn just a few techniques of nonviolent action. It is best suited for high school students and older. $50 for the public and $30 for members. However, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Ages 23 and younger can attend for no cost. Register online or call 863-2345 x6, for more information visit www.pjcvt.org
