Jan started to deliver NVC trainings from 2001 and has since made it his full time occupation. Vine coaching & training, established in January 1998, was born from Jan’s quest for what is really important in his life – a search triggered by a 30-year management career in business.
Since 2007 Jan has offered 12 trainings in Kenya, 3 times in Sierra Leone and once in South Africa. In his home country he works amongst others with the general public, judges, prosecutors, mediators, lawyers, technicians, medical doctors and teams in organisations.

Furthermore, since 2008, he offers each year a yearlong Train the NVC Trainer course with Martin van der Meulen and he brought the yearlong mediation training “Mediate your life” developed by John Kinyon and Ike Lasater to the Netherlands in collaboration with Christiaan Zandt.

Living in Brazil for 2,5 years he was touched by NVC in 2001 and since then has spent most of his time to learn, live and share NVC. He helped set up NVC-Brazil, co-founded the Dutch-speaking NVC-circle, started the yearly NVC-festival and, together with his colleague Jan van Koert, trained about 100 people to share NVC as a trainer.
In 2004 Martin became a certified trainer and, in that same year, started Ai-opener. Ai-opener is a NVC training institute offering a wide range of NVC-training to individuals and designing in-company programs for organisations. With Ai-opener his dream is to humanize the workplace by teaching NVC skills and consciousness to 1% of the Dutch labour force (70.000 people). Together with 4 other certified trainers they are now offering NVC to a variety of organizations. From companies like Microsoft, ABNAMRO, KLM and AkzoNobel to hospitals, educational institutes, NGO’s, public transport and government institutions: www.ai-opener.nl.
